True BorderFree printing is possible on cut sheets so that an image fills up the entire paper right to the edges – on all 4 sides and up to A3+ size!

The printer’s unique design which includes a roll paper holder also lets you use roll paper to produce borderless edge-to-edge digital photos in different sizes all the way to A3+ width!

Printing tasks are completed more swiftly with the Epson Stylus Photo 1290. In breathtaking photo mode, a full colour image in A4-size takes only 220 seconds to print. At full speed, you get up to 9.4 pages per minute for black and 9.0 pages per minute for colour.

This combination of speed and quality is the result of bi-directional printing and Epson Variable-Sized Droplet Technology which uses larger dots in areas of solid colour and smaller dots in areas of gradation and blending

Versatile Connectivity and Network Upgradability

The Epson Stylus Photo1290 features both USB and parallel port connectivity with PCs, Macintosh® and iMac® computers. It can be upgraded as a network printer via an optional external printer server.

Once set up, this sleek printer with a quiet engine offers great performance. For example, you can enhance low resolution pictures through a new Smooth Edge function which pinpoints and smoothens rough edges on text and images. You can also process postscript files with the optional Epson StylusRIP. Indeed, you’ll have everything you need for professional standard photo printing.

Yields vary considerably based on images printed, print settings, paper type, frequency of use and temperature.For print quality, a variable amount of ink remains in the cartridge after the "replace cartridge" indicator comes on. The printer ships with full cartridges and part of the ink from the first cartridges is used for priming the printer.
